Rapha base layers are made from the highest grade of New Zealand merino wool. The fabric is extremely comfortable, wicks moisture superbly and is naturally breathable and odour resistant. The Women’s Base Layer has been cut specifically for a female shape, with a neat, set-in v-neck that has a finer binding than the men’s version. Other features include set-in sleeves and flat lock stitching, designed to ensure the fabric won’t chafe and to eliminate rubbing from bib shorts and bag straps.

Quite simply put, since this arrived on my desk, I've really only taken it off to wash it (occasionally). I've been wearing it on the bike pretty much constantly in cold weather, but also under big woolly jumpers and the like as a casual 'normal' top. It's just so comfy and pleasant to wear. It's well made and the good quality merino wears beautifully, on or off the bike.

Given the versatility and the non-take-off-ability of the Rapha Women’s Sleeveless Base Layer, the price tag represents pretty good value. Merino is never cheap, and this garment certainly performs better than looser or scratchier merino products that have a slightly lower price point.
